KISS Frontman, MÖTLEY CRÜE Bassist Discuss Detroit Concert Postponement (Audio)

KISS frontman Paul Stanley and MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx spoke to Detroit, Michigan's WRIF 101.1 FM radio station yesterday (Wednesday, September 5) about the postponement of the two bands' joint concert at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. As previously reported, a truck transporting about $6 million worth of equipment for MÖTLEY CRÜE's tour with KISS was involved in a road accident en route to the Clarkston concert — which was originally slated to take place last night — and the show has since been rescheduled for tonight (Thursday, September 6).

According to the Detroit Free Press, the accident happened at about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday near Lima, Ohio, about three hours away from Clarkston. The driver, Charles Lamb, told state troopers that the truck drifted left as he reached for a water bottle. Lamb overcorrected to the right and the truck veered into a ditch next to the highway, Lt. John Carrico of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Lamb, who was cited for failure to control a vehicle, was taken to a local hospital for "non-incapacitating injuries," Carrico said.

MÖTLEY CRÜE and KISS's tour — dubbed simply "The Tour" — kicked off on July 20 in Bristow, Virginia and is currently scheduled to wrap on September 23 in Hartford, Connecticut. Although the bands are officially co-headlining the tour, MÖTLEY CRÜE is opening for KISS each night.
